Online! An Evening with Author Steve Almond
Thursday, August 67:00—8:00 PMOnline - Registration is required.Hamilton-Wenham Public Library14 Union Street, South Hamilton, MA, 01982
Join New York Times Bestselling author Steve Almond for a frank discussion of the forces that will shape the 2020 election. He will discuss his book Bad Stories: What the Hell Just Happened to Our Country. Almond argues that we can’t begin to understand our political moment unless we can step back and examine the stories that led us to this point. Drawing on authors ranging from Melville to Hannah Arendt to James Baldwin, Bad Stories examines the narratives that have eroded our faith in democracy, and offers an antidote to the sense of dread and bewilderment that so many Americans feel.
Steve Almond is the author of ten books of fiction and nonfiction, including the New York Times bestsellers Candyfreak and Against Football. For four years, Steve hosted the New York Times Dear Sugars podcast with his pal Cheryl Strayed. His short stories have been anthologized widely, in the Best American Short Stories, The Pushcart Prize, and Best American Mysteries series. He also publishes crazy, DIY books.
