Bicycle Mechanics Workshop with Beverly Bikes

Find out about basic bicycle maintenance, puncture repair, tire safety, places to ride, and healthy cycling. There will be three stations/groups to choose from led by the amazing staff from the Beverly Bikes shop. This workshop is for ages 15+ and adults. Space is limited, Registration required.

Group 1 Basic Maintenance: tire pressure, lubrication, drive train inspection, cable health, spoke tension, and bearing wear (pivot ageing).

Group 2 Puncture Repair and Tire Safety: hands on tube change; sealant usage;  wear indicators for tires including dry rot, shelfing/skid spots, and root cause analysis.

Group 3 Healthy Humans Cycling: places to ride; what the heck is zone 2?; cassette ratios & cadence including joint health, heart work, sarcopenia; and learn to love your mitochondria. Also, Zwift fun: an introduction to trainers; a pedal dynamics lesson (on the trainer); and controlling variables.
