Sign up for your 1:1 slot to read to Tessie, our Certified Therapy Dog. Tessie's calm comforting presence helps students gain confidence in reading skills. Children in grades K-3 must pre-register for a 10 minute slot with Tessie, socially distanced in our children’s program room - petting the dog is OK!

Masks are REQUIRED.  Please bring your own book to read, and wait in your vehicle until your allotted reading time. We will call you when Tessie is ready.  Please bring only one adult and one child to your session. Contact the Children's Room with questions: 978-468-5577 X13  or email Lorraine Der: lder@hwlibrary.org.  Registration gives the child permission to meet with Tessie, Mrs. Fleming, a retired teacher and Tessie's handler, and consent to photography for possible use on social media. In advance of the appointment, please let us know what book(s) your child might be sharing with Mrs. Fleming, so that we can provide Ms. Fleming a copy so that she may best follow along.
