Do you want to add maps to your travel sketches and artwork?

Inspired by this year's community read books we are offering a two-part sketching maps workshop led by Jessica Yurwitz, owner of Slow River Studios in Topsfield, https://www.slowriverstudio.com/. We will learn about common iconography and systems of the maps we know, as well as fanciful and abstract mapping systems that will be new to you. Each two-hour session includes a mixture of group instruction and individual coaching.

While this workshop is designed for people with no prior experience, more experienced artists are welcome as well! This workshop will meet for two consecutive Thursday evenings on April 10 and April 17.  For teens ages 14+ and adults.  Registration is required, as space is limited. Registering for April 10, automatically registers you for April 17.

This workshop is part of a series of programs and events in support of our community read books: The Lioness of Boston, by Emily Franklin, and Dodger, by Terry Pratchett. From what we can tell Isabella Stewart Gardner was the most well-traveled woman of her time.
